The mass media is called mass for a reason so use it to market your company
It may sound amazing but it was not so long ago that the word website was still one which was foreign to most people and most home computers were the size of microwaves and took ages to process even the most simple information.
However, the past couple of decades have seen a dramatic change and the media is moving so rapidly that it is difficult to keep up with all the innovations being introduced.
The result is that new media has become an exciting opportunity for those prepared to take advantage of new ways of reaching clients and selling products and services.
Podcasts, websites, downloads, email, social networking sites, all are changing the way people work and making information more accessible than ever before.
Take websites as an example. More and more companies have realised that a bog-standard website is no longer enough, that a good website needs to have a sense of movement about it, be constantly updated and make life easier for those visiting it.
The truly switched-on companies have also realised that new technologies give them terrific ways of getting in touch with large numbers of customers through electronic databases which allow them to send out mass emails which update people on projects and products. As do social media outlets like Twitter, You Tube and Facebook.
Downloads offer similar opportunities: people live at such a pace and are so often on the move that they take their technology with them, which has seen the rapid development of hand-held devices.
Mass media has come of age - so why not use it to market your company?
