Why the human touch pays dividends in business


Anyone in business will tell you that, despite the rapid advances in communications technology, face-to-face contact remains the best way of bringing in new contracts and retaining existing ones.

That’s especially true if you’re just going into business. Email and hand-held communications may be transforming the world in which we live but the human touch is never more important than in testing economic times.

For many business people, the place to create and cement those personal contacts is at conferences and exhibitions; humans still have a fundamental need to look each other in the eye when communicating despite the rapid growth of the Internet.

Also, if you’re going into business for yourself, you need an understanding of the various sectors with which you may work so Googling conferences would be time well spent.

So why not take a day or two to attend such events? Why? Well, in business every bit of knowledge is golden. Such a philosophy is the difference between success and failure
